Convergent Security and Communications Technology

Design, Tendering and Project Management of Integrated Access Control, Intruder Alarm and IP Video Surveillance Systems
SecurityNet has broad-ranging experience in developing systems concepts and the preparation of detail design documentation.

On behalf of our clients we manage the tendering and implementation of security and communications systems for commercial office buildings, office fitouts, warehouses, industrial sites, residential and community safety projects.

SecurityNet's reputation within the Australian Security Industry is well-established. A rigorous research and evaluation process ensures that only innovative products that have demonstrated quality, longevity and support are considered for inclusion in the systems that we design.

Our clients benefit from:

  • A primary focus on accurate interpretation of client needs
  • Advice that is not influenced by vendor relationships
  • Specifications that leave nothing to chance, outlining requirements  in unambiguous terms.
Design of Wireless Networks
SecurityNet has been developing wireless network-based CCTV systems for town centres in New South Wales since 2002. A major proportion of our design work in connection with Public Safety Surveillance Systems has been  associated with the planning and design of carrier-class wireless networks.

Wireless networks present a unique community and tourism value proposition through the provision of carrier-managed and advertising-funded free wireless Internet access. This design strategy  reduces  the cost of establishment and ownership of town centre CCTV systems.

A "mesh" of secure, managed wireless access points may be configured to provide segmented data channels for  :

  • Connectivity between surveillance cameras, monitoring centres, and police and emergency vehicles
  • Carriage of emergency warning audio and visual data
  • Mobile Internet connectivity

SecurityNet also designs permanent or temporary  wireless networks for carriage of IP video, audio and telephony for :

  • ports
  • marinas
  • mining sites
  • industrial estates and business parks
  • retirement facilities
  • sporting and recreational facilities
  • entertainment events

Re-engineering and Systems Optimisation

At SecurityNet we have always had a passion for  technology but we never lose sight of what security is all about. In an increasingly uncertain world there are few constants, but threats to security are constant and ever-changing.

Many buildings were designed in an era when access control of entry doors and elevators and basic intruder alarm devices were sufficient to deter, detect and delay criminal activity. It is an unfortunate fact however that the Internet has made it simple for criminals to obtain information about security systems and the devices that these systems depend upon, while at the same time sharing information on methods of compromise.  Building owners and their tenants frequently fall victim to criminals who are adept at penetrating basic security measures to steal valuable or sensitive assets, which are easily disposed of through organised crime networks.

Through our forensic work for insurers, we are aware of the methods used to compromise physical security and have developed a range of countermeasures to increase the effectiveness of current systems without significant cost.
